Video D2R Items game movie World of Warcraft is about two hours in length, clocking at 123 minutes, according to IMDB. Director Duncan Jones has now revealed that the original cut lasted 2 hours and 40 minute, and also explained what it would take for an extended cut/director's cutting to be released one day.
Jones revealed the running time in an interview in an interview with The Daily Beast. Jones revealed that he'd been hoping to add an Easter egg inside World of Warcraft that tied the film to his previous movies, Moon and Source Code However, the idea was left on the cutting room floor.
"If you've ever heard of Moon and Source Code, there's this super sweet, extremely talented person called Chesney Hawkes. He wrote this massive hit in Britain called 'I Am the One And Only," Jones declared. "I utilized to use it for an alarm timer in Moon as well as a ring tone in Source Code. And I asked him to compose it as an actor within World of Warcraft."
"We were unable to keep it from being cut. However, perhaps, I'll just sneak it into the Twitterverse... the singer performed an World of Warcraft -medievally version of his single, and it's just brilliant. Unfortunately I was the only one to think it was hilarious."
As for whether or not there is ever going to be an extended version of World of Warcraft that contains the Easter egg as well as further scenes Jones explained that the answer is contingent on how the film performs.
"There will not be an extended cut unless the cheap d2r items production does exceptionally," The actor explained this on Twitter. "That is just the way of things."
